About Freelancer Ledger
Freelancer Ledger is an independent publication for freelancers who want to get paid on time and keep more of what they earn.
We write about three things:
- Tools worth your money — honest roundups and comparisons of software and home-office gear for freelancers. When we recommend a product, we say why, and we mark affiliate links clearly.
- Freelance finance in practice — invoices, late payments, reminder wording, and tax basics, explained in plain English.
- Cautionary tales — real stories of tools, settings, and tactics that went wrong for other freelancers, rewritten as lessons you can use.
How we make money
This site is reader-supported in two ways: some articles contain affiliate links (for example to Amazon UK) — if you buy through them, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you — and we display advertising. Both are disclosed wherever they appear. Our recommendations are never for sale: we don’t take payment for placement.
Editorial standards
Every article is written by a human, based on publicly documented sources. Where we cite a statistic or a claim, we link to the source. If we can’t verify a claim, we don’t publish it.
